At DogZone we pride ourselves not only on our standards of customer service but of our trained staff. In fact DogZone exceeds the standards set under the Codes of Practice for Dog Daycare Establishments under the Domestic (feral & nuisance) Animals Act 1994. As a DogZone client you can be assured that at all times of operation, there will be at least one qualified staff member aside of our junior staff looking after your dogs. All staff at DogZone receive on-the-job training. Furthermore two staff members have successfully completed the Certified Instructor Course (CIC) Dog Training & Behaviour with DTA (Dog Trainers Australia).
Sally Chan is the owner of DogZone, Australia’s 1st Day-care centre for dogs situated in Melbourne Australia. Sally started her career in the pet industry in 1994 where she successfully completed her Certified Instructor Course (CIC) Dog Training & Behaviour Level III with DTA and commenced training with Command Dog Training School where she remained as an Instructor until 2002. Sally is qualified to train Puppy Class, Basic Obedience and Advanced Training.
Sally is also a qualified dog groomer and has been providing this service to DogZone’s clients since opening in 2002. In that time she has clipped and groomed hundreds of dogs of all breeds. Sally also won the Venture Cup Award at Swinburne University for her business plan of DogZone whilst undertaking her business/marketing degree in 2001.
Sally currently owns “Scribble” a 7yo Pom/spaniel she has had for 4 years and “Henry” a 19yo cat.
Simon has been working at DogZone since 2003. Simon’s experience in the pet industry began when he first trained a German Shepherd dog at Command Dog Training School in 1992 and went on to complete Advanced Training classes with her. In 1994 Simon successfully completed his Certified Instructor Course (CIC) Dog Training & Behaviour with DTA and commenced training with Command Dog Training School where he remained as an Instructor until 1998. Simon currently owns an 8yo Neapolitan Mastiff “Sassy” who he has had for 3 years.
Yoshie came to Australia from Japan in 2009 and decided to make it her home. She has been working for DogZone since 2012 and completed her Certified Instructor Course (CIC) Dog Training & Behaviour with DTA in 2013. Yoshie owns and trains a 3yo Bull Mastiff “Ai”. She is still training “Ai” at CDTS where she is in Intermediate Level 2 and also at Knox Obedience Club level 2. Yoshie and Ai love to spend time doing special things together every weekend and you will often find them at doggy events and cafes.
Jade has been working for DogZone since 2014 and has recently completed her Certificate III in Animal care. Jade has grown up with Newfoundlands and Boxer dogs and currently owns “Ally” a 9yo Boxer and “Tank” a 7yo Border collie/Boxer/Staffy. Jade apart from loving dogs also owns a cat and had numerous reptiles including green tree frogs and snakes.
Laura has been working at DogZone since 2004 and comes in every afternoon for a few hours to help out and play with the dogs. While Laura doesn’t have a dog of her own she would love to own a Cavalier but wouldn’t not say no to any of the dogs that come to DogZone.
Abbey after finishing school completed a Certificate II in Animal studies and started working at DogZone. She loves all breeds of dogs and currently owns “Sonny” a 10yo Corgi and “Sammy” a 3yo Maremma Sheepdog.
Manasi joined the team after realising her dream is to work with dogs. Growing up in India Manasi had numerous animals including a pet monkey. Currently she has a 5yo Lab/Pointer “Keeper”, “Pluto” the cat and “Bugsy” the rabbit.
Emily has worked at DogZone since 2010. In that time she has completed her 1st degree in Biology and done some traveling. She is now studying in Bendigo, so we don’t see much of her during term time but during term breaks she is back helping. Currently Emily has a 2yo black lab “Juno”.
Erfeng started working at DogZone 2016 after completing some work experience for his Certificate IV in Animal Studies. Erfeng loves dogs but unfortunately can’t have one where he lives so gets his dog fix at DogZone each week.
